Lids and covers.-Relates to means for enabling the lid of a cooking vessel to be turned about the edge of the vessel and held supported in a raised position to facilitate access to the contents. The lid may carry a plate or lug p, Fig. 2, movable within a bridle-piece b attached to the edge of the vessel and formed with slots b<111> adapted to receive the rim of the lid when turned into the raised position, as shown in Fig. 4. Fig. 8 shows a construction in which the plate p is formed with lateral extensions p<11> engaging with hook members h on the vessel. Figs. 10 and 11 show the lid provided with a, curved lug p passing through a slot s<111> in the wall of the vessel. In a modification of this construction the lug is attached to the vessel and the slot is formed in the lid. Specification 26490/04 is referred to.
