Abstract

Supporting.-In a telephone instrument having a holder f for the receiver c, the switch hook d is held in its depressed position, when the instrument is not in use, by means of a lever l pivoted at n to a band-clip m adjustable on the pillar b. The lower end of the lever is formed as a hook q by means of which the lever can be operated to cause its clip portion p to be engaged with or disengaged from the hook d. Stops r, s, Fig. 6, are formed on the lever l and boss t of the pivot n respectively. The holder f and arm e are formed from a single piece of wire connected at its inner end by a ball and socket joint i, j, Fig. 5, to a band clip g adjustable on the pillar b. The surface of the ball i is preferably roughened.
