Diaphragms; magnetic instruments; loudspeakers.-The movable element 24 of a soundreproducing apparatus or the like is centred by means of a flexible fibre or like disc 30 which prevents transverse movement of the movable element without applying appreciable restoring- force to its ordinary movement. The cone-shaped diaphragm 24 is connected to an operating-coil 29 'in an annular or equivalent air-gap of a magnetic circuit 15, 12, 11, 14 and the fibre disc has slots to enhance its flexibility and is mounted on the central pole piece 15 and is connected peripherally to the diaphragm or operating coil. The larger end of the diaphragm is suspended freely in an opening in a baffle or sounding board 23.
