Residual gases; deposit collectors.-An auxiliary elettrode 7 connected to one of the filament leads 2 is coated with a getter which, under the influence of an electric discharge between the electrode and the filament 1, is capable of generating a gas that combines with the material volatilized from the filament to form a colourless compound.
