Abstract
268,067. Tester, W. A. Jan. 12, 1926. Inductances.-A multi-layer inductance coil is wound on a cardboard former C which is mounted on a wider mandrel M provided with winding- spokes S. The turns 1 - - 24 of each layer are wound spirally around the former, looped overthe spokes on one side and are then carried directly across the former and looped over the spokes on the other side. The turns are looped over two spokes except at the end of the twelfth and twentyfourth turns where they are carried around one and three spokes respectively, in order that successive layers may start at superposed positions. The mandrel and spokes are then removed and the looped portions of every turn are bent back over the cardboard rim, Fig. 4. If the last layer comprises less than six turns it is wound in with the preceding layer but if it has six or more turns it is formed into a separate layer. The layers are insulated and the whole is bound with tape and secured to a plug-andsocket mounting.
