Abstract

267,869. Stirling Boiler Co., Ltd., and Mackay, H. J. S. Jan. 14, 1927. Water-tube boilers.-A water-tube boiler of the Stirling type is provided with a reheater G for exhaust steam from turbines and the like comprising parallel interconnected banks of tubes having inlets G, and outlets G2 for the steam which flows through the reheater tubes in the opposite direction to that of the furnace gases on the outside of the tubes. The rearmost bank of tubes is connected to the adjacent bank by an outside downcomer tube. The boiler is provided with water-screened furnace walls, a superheater C, economizer E, and air heater F.
