Tobacco pipes and cigar and cigarette holders. -A device for cooling the smoke and cleaning a tobacco pipe or holder comprises a tubular fitting a having a plunger-like end b, which fits in the enlarged bore of the stem, and a piston-like member c. A pin c<1> on the member c projects through a longitudinal slot having off-set extensions a<3>, a<4> and enables the member c to be moved to clean the fitting a. When the pin c<1> is in the position shown, the member c acts as a baffle for the smoke. When it is in the extension a<4>, a scraping blade which is attached to the end of the member c enters the base of the bowl f and may be rotated for cleaning the bowl by rotating the mouthpiece, which is attached to the fitting a.
