Abstract

267,840. Simpson, J. T. Nov. 12, 1926. Continuous-discharge apparatus with moving containers. - A continuous-discharge. mixing- machine for sand &c. comprises a rotating pan in which stationary, adjustable plows are provided to deflect the material, against centrifugal force, to a central discharge opening; adjustable mullers are also provided and the material is led from the machine by a conveyer working in a channel in the bed of the machine. The pan 23, Fig 2, provided with a lining 50, is supported on rollers 40, and has a central discharge shot 27 riding in a bearing 24 supported in piers 10, between which is the channel 11 for the discharge conveyer. The pan is driven through bevel gear 21 from a variable-speed motor 86, Fig. 1. The mullers 72, the tyres of which are replaceable, are mounted on pivoted arms 67 having adjustable stops 68 bearing against a triangular framework 60 on which the arms 67 are mounted. The mullers are adjusted so as not to bear on the pan bottom. The plows are mounted on radial members 97, the outer ends of which are supported on piers 101 ; the plow stems are adjustably connected with crank arms 94, which are in turn adjustably connected to a common operating link 105 having a hand setting device 108. The material is defected from the edge of the container on to the plows by vertical scrapers 121 carried by plates 119 and having hinged inward extensions, the inclination of which can be varied by setting devices. Similar deflecting members are provided in front of the mullers.
