Abstract

265,760. Terrell, T., and Aladdin Industries, Ltd. Jan. 18, 1926. Wick burners, annular; flame spreaders.- The air ascending the central draft tube b of the wick burner of an incandescent mantle lamp is directed by a downwardly tapering imperforate baffle h on to the upper edge of the tube b or on to a cylinder or flame spreader a fitting in the upper end of the tube b. The flame spreader a extends above the top edge of the wick e into the flame so as to conduct heat from the flame to the fuel vaporizing at the wick and to the air current. The baffle h is adjustably mounted on brackets j extending inwardly from the tube b. A short chimney k is employed to protect the mantle l.
