Chimney tops.-A chimney top is provided with a number of exit apertures around its periphery and is fitted with a cover having a central projection extending into the top to a position below the apertures. As shown, an overhanging cover 3 has a conical projection 4, and the apertures 2 in the top are trapezium-shaped with a width less than the diameter of the projection 4 at the corresponding level and its side edges parallel to the projected lateral edges of the projection.
