Abstract
261,663. Bidoire, M. A. L. Jan. 19, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 256,230, [Class 80 (ii), Gearing, Variable-speed &c.]. Gyroscopic apparatus comprises a gyroscopic mass 42 mounted transversely within a main gyroscopic mass C. According to the parent Specification, a single gyroscope C is turned end-over-end by the driving-means and imparts an elastic variable drive through a pinion 26 to a main or driven bevel wheel 29. To adapt this gear to drive backwards from the wheel 29, the second gyroscope 42 is introduced, which is geared to the wheel 29 through a pinion 27, shaft 37, and bevel pair 38, 39. A loose pinion 40 is provided for balancing.
