Abstract

261,511. Holmes, V. W. Sept. 24, 1925. Rests, head; bed rests.-In a head-rest for supporting the head in a face downward position, the weight of the head is supported at the forehead and also at some other part of the face, one or more apertures being provided to enable the user to breathe freely. The form shown in Fig. 1 comprises a metallic frame A supporting a cushion C, apertures B allowing the passage of air. Fig. 3 shows a modification consisting entirely of an inflatable cushion, while the headrest shown in Fig. 5 comprises a board R with a suitably shaped aperture S and padding T. Straps or hammocks of flexible material may be fitted to provide additional support.
