261,353. Grayson Engine Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Grayson, G. W.). Nov. 11, 1925, [Convention date]. Suction pipes.-Fuel pumps for internalcombustion engines arc provided with a variable opening in the supply pipe to the pumps whereby the output is controlled and the speed and power of the engines varied. The constant stroke pump 4 takes its supply from a pipe 8 which leads to a hollow sleeve 9 which is adjustable on its axis whereby the port 11 thereto is brought wholly or partially into register with the duct 12 leading to the suction valve 13. The control sleeve is shown with three ports controlling simultaneously a battery of three pumps, but a single controlling means may be used in the pipe 8.
