Abstract

261,066. Cox, C. W., Shawfield, C. E. C., and Bartlett, E. E. Aug. 7, 1925. Plug couplings.-A plug and socket coup. ling suitable for fuses comprises accurately cylindrical plug and socket elements, the plug being of slightly greater diameter than the socket, and both elements being slit so that both are deformed into conical shape when engaged. The plug A is attached to a fuse carrier C by means of a screw a, the fuse wire F being secured by nuts a<3>, a<4>. The socket B, Fig. 6, is secured to the base D by the screw c<6> of a terminal c<4>, or by a nut surrounding the socket and engaging a shoulder at the bottom of the recess in the base, a spring ,washer being interposed. In this case the head of the terminal screw may be located inside the socket. According to the Provisional Specification the plug may be spread by a conical member at the base of the socket that enters a corresponding recess in the end of the plug.
