Abstract

261,017. Feldman, E. D., (Assignees of Daly, J. A.). Nov. 6, 1925, [Convention date]. Roofing, blocks, slabs, and tiles.-Articles such as shingles to be coated with metal are first coated with a sticky substance such as paint, varnish or asphalt, which is allowed to set until tacky and then coated with finely divided particles of an alloy of lead and tin, the surface thus formed being finally electroplated with copper or other metal. The articles may be of wood, tile, metal or felt, or of asbestos or felt saturated with asphalt. The applied metal may be fused electrically or by an oxy-hydrogen flame and projected against the sticky surface in an atomized condition by means of a blast. Alloys of equal parts of tin and lead, or of 25 parts of tin to 75 parts of lead are suitable.
