Abstract

260,881. House, G. May 21, 1926. Diaphragm valves; locking.-In a gas valve comprising a screw-operated leather diaphragm b<1> and upstanding tubular seating E surrounded by an annular space open to the inlet passage, as shown, the seating E is made separate from the casing and is secured thereto, as by screwing; the base portion F may also oe made separate from the seating E, as shown. The upper end of the spindle is made of square section on which a ring d<1> with depending legs d<2> is adapted to slide; when the valve has been adjusted, a reduced part of the lower ends of the legs d<2> engages in holes formed in a disc d<3> fixed to the cap B and thereby locks the valve in the adjusted position.
