Abstract
260,381. Chant, J. Aug. 28, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Ironing - machines specially constructed for treating collars; ironing- machines with damping arrangements. -A machine for damping and ironing the top edges of single collars and for subsequently curling the collars comprises a guideway c leading the collars, top edge down, to a fabric-covered damping-wheel a from which they pass by a second guideway d to a grooved ironing roller e. A pivoted lever (not shown) in the form of a channelled guide maintains the collars in contact with the damping and ironing rollers. The collars are subsequently led by a guideway j to shaping rollers h', h<2>, h<3> as described in Specification 223,620. The apparatus may be combined with the double collar-finishing machine described in that Specification.
