Spindle apparatus; thread guides. -4 device for spinning textile or like fibrous materials comprises a driven spindle 1 and a dragged ring 9, carrying guide eyes 11 and mounted in ball bearings. The ring is dragged by a cord 13 similar to the drag cord used in ordinary flyer frames. The materail may be wound in a cop form on a tube or on the bare spindle or may be wound on a bobbin The rail 6, which carries the ring, or the spindle may be reciprocated. A pivoted thread guide 16 is carried on a post 15 on the rail 6; the thread guide adjacent to the rollers may be omitted.
