Abstract

259,833. Vickery, G. March 25, 1926. Open fireplaces; cooking-ranges. - A onepiece refractory member 1 forming the back of an open fire-place, as in Fig. 1, or arranged as in Fig. 4 behind the boiler 7 of a cooking- range, is formed with a single flue 3 terminating in a single horizontal slot 2 at the rear of the fire. The top of the flue is controlled by a damper 6, which is withdrawn to open the flue and partially or totally close the main flue when an accelerated draught is required.
