Board games.-Apparatus for playing a game comprises (1) a box, Fig. 1, containing two compartments 30, 31 and a chequered board, some, 32, of the squares on the board being coloured and consecutively numbered, some, 33, coloured only, some, 34, remaining white, and others 35 being coloured black, (2) a series of numbered pieces, Fig. 8, equal in number to the numbered squares on the board, (3) barriers 20, Fig. 1, secured to and standing up from the board to indicate the direction to be taken by the pieces in passing from the white squares to the coloured ones, (4) counters, Fig. 10, bearing numbers corresponding to those on the board, and (5) one or more dice. The box may be provided with a lid 2. In playing a game, the pieces, Fig. 8, are placed at random on the white squares and the players each draw a counter, Fig. 10, to determine which of the set of numbered squares on the board each player is to endeavour to occupy with the corresponding pieces. The players move the pieces in accordance with the throw of a die and under the control of rules, the first player to cover his group of squares with the corresponding pieces winning the game.
