Abstract
256,919. Schwartz, C. Aug. 12, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 253,118. Discharging; cooling discharged materials.- Coke cooling plant, according to the parent Specification, is modified by providing the coke chamber 1 to one side of the boiler 2 and arranging the charging opening 3 so that the coke inclines in one direction only, the boiler tubes 7 which contact with the coke being inclined at the angle of repose of the latter. The chamber 1 is provided at its lower end with an extension, containing a pocketted discharge roller 6 and formed in its upper surface with apertures 9 for the passage of the cooling gases which are supplied through the chamber 8. A modification is described in which the cooling gases are supplied through a chamber arranged centrally within the container 1, the discharge in this case being effected by two rollers arranged one on each side below the gas inlet chamber and delivering into a common discharge hopper.
