Projectile fuzes; packing.- The outward escape of the flash from a percussion fuze is prevented by a sealing disc E, Fig. 1, integral with a firing-pin D, which is driven against a percussion cap C by the explosion of a percussion cap f<2> by a striker f<1>, these constituting a sensitive percussion fuze acting by a combination of momentum on the percussion cap and direct impact on the striker. The sealing disc is normally held in place by projections a<3> in the 'fuze body, and when driven in with the firing-pin D forms a seal in a conical seat a<2>. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) also describes : (1) a percussion cap C, Fig. 3 (Cancelled), arranged in a recess flared out towards the bursting charge of the projectile and secured in that recess by a cover H crimped into a groove a<4> ; a sealing disc E Fig. 4 (Cancelled), arranged between the per. cussion cap C and the firing-pin D of a sensitive combined direct-action and momentum-percus sion fuze, which may be covered by a cork wad I glued in place and coated with tin foil; and (3) arrows B, Fig. 7 (Cancelled), having winged tails and provided with fuzes, as described above which are packed in a bucket J to prevent un timely operation of the fuzes, and to protect them from enemy bullets.
