Abstract
255,229. M.-L. Magneto Syndicate, Ltd., and Morris, D. K. July 10, 1925. Transformers. - Transformers, more particularly those employed as intervalve couplings in wireless reception apparatus, are provided with primary and secondary windings which comprise similar coils 4, 5 having the same number of turns and wound in the same sense arranged side by side on a coil such as that indicated at 2, the additional turns of the longer winding being contained in layers 7 extending over the coils 4, 5. The windings are started at opposite ends of the core, and in order that, when different gauges of wire are employed, the two coils will have the same diameter of turn at equal distances from the ends, the turns of the smaller wire are appropriately spaced. The windings may be arranged on a core of H form and their outward faces may be battered as shown, or, alternatively, the windings may be straight sided and may be arranged on an ordinary shell type core. Self capacity may be reduced by a construction on the lines described in Specification 208,895, and the transformer may be enclosed in a casing similar to that described in that Specification.
