Abstract
254,220. Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik A. Krupp Akt.-Ges. Oct. 24, 1925, [Convention date]. Lined metal casks; hoops. - The outer and inner vessels 1, 2 of a double-walled sheet metal drum are each formed independently of several sections joined together by welding &c. and are interconnected by spacing members 5 which are either independent and secured to both vessels by welding &c., or are formed integrally with one vessel and welded to the other. The members 5 are joined to or are integral with one vessel and extend into the seams of the other vessel, or they may extend into the seams of both vessels. The seams may be in the same or in a different crosssectional plane. In order to obviate deterioration by galvanic action the outer vessel is made from aluminium-steel while the inner vessel is of aluminium. Hoops or tyres 8 may be pressed over the ends of the drum to facilitate handling and to serve as protection therefor. The spacing members 5 may be perforated and the space between the vessels may be filled with insulating material.
