Multiple-acting piston pumps; revolving-cylinder pumps; valves, arrangement of.-In hydraulic pumps, motors, and transmission apparatus of the kind wherein a number of pistons operate in cylinders mounted on a fixed or rotary carrier rotating on ball or roller bearings on or within a cylindrical or conical valve, and are reciprocated by a crank, eccentric &c., the metals used for both the carrier 8 and the valve 5 have approximately the same coefficient of exjansion, which may that of the hard steel ball or roller bearings 26, 27 between the carrier and valve. The outside races 24, 28 of the bearings may be of larger diameter than the valve face. Specification 230,513 is referred to.
