Abstract

Vapour and vacuum apparatus, arrangements of.-A R÷ntgenray tube 9 is fed by condensers 7, 8, each of which is connected to the secondary 5 of the supply transformer 4 through a rectifying valve 6. The valves in the two circuits are oppositely connected, and their cathodes are heated by transformers 16 supplied from the alternating source 1 which also supplies current through a rheostat 2 to the primary 3 of the transformer 4. The rheostat 2 is so adjusted or the valves 6 are so dimensioned, that only a relatively low current flows in the primary of the transformer 4, and the dimensions of the condensers 7, 8 are made of sufficiently high value to permit the secondary circuit to supply the whole of the energy necessary for a Rontgen-ray photograph. A modified apparatus employing only one condenser and rectifying valve is described.
