Abstract
249,805. Gischow, O. R. March 25, 1925, [Convention date]. Wireless tuning-apparatus, adjustment devices for. - Adjusting mechanism, affording both a fine and a coarse adjustment, and particularly applicable for electric condensers, comprises toothed discs 15<1>, 171 engaging each other but having differing numbers of teeth. The disc 15<1>, which remains stationary during the operation of the fine adjustment, is separated from the panel p by a pad 36; the other disc is engaged by the end 20 of a spring finger 25<1> rotated by the dome 50. The disc 17<1> is secured to the sleeve 21<1> and through it to the shaft 22; the rotation imparted depending on the numbers of teeth on the two wheels. The edge projecting beyond the dome 50 is calibrated to indicate the adjustment. Coarse adjustment is effected by the knob 51 secured directly to the sleeve 21<1>, the two toothed wheels rotating solidly with the spindle and sleeve. Modifications are described in which the knob for fine adjustment is at the outer end of the shaft 22, and also in which it surrounds the knob for effecting coarse adjustment, and access to the inner knob being obtained through perforations in the outer.
