Abstract

249,179. Youlten, W. Nov. 19, 1924. Locking nuts.-Relates to selflocking nuts of the type having an internal annular groove and a cooperating bevelled bearing face, and consists in forming the nut with an internal annular groove 9, wedge or V-shaped in cross-section and in providing one or two bevelled outer surfaces 8. The groove 9 may be situated midway between the faces of the nut or closer to the bearing face. Radial slits may be provided extending from the bearing face to the annular groove, and an exterior annular groove may be provided in the nut to facilitate the locking distortion.
