Abstract
A rotating or revolving greenhouse comprises a central circular platform which can be rotated either by hand or by electric or solar powered water pump allowing 100% of the internal space to be used for cultivation. The greenhouse may have external folding doors which allow a user to stand or sit outside the greenhouse while rotating the platform to access the whole of the internal space.
Description
S
Revolution Greenhouse
Description
This invention is a greenhouse which contains a rotating platform.
The platform can be moved by hand or can be moved using an electric motor or by a solar powered water pump.
Conventional greenhouses lose much of their growing space to the central walkway.
Conventional greenhouses are also static and so plants in different parts of the greenhouse enjoy different growing conditions.
Conventional greenhouses are also difficult and even dangerous for disabled gardeners and those with mobility issues to use.
The Revolution Greenhouse overcomes all of these issues by having a central, circular rotating platform. This allows pots, seed trays and growbags to occupy the whole of the growing space inside the greenhouse.
It also means that the growing area can be rotated through 360 degrees allowing plants to be moved inside the greenhouse to attract differing growing conditions.
It also allows the user to stand or sit outside the greenhouse rotating the platform to attend to all the plants within.
The solar or electrically powered water pump also means that the greenhouse can rotate itself.
This allows users to leave it unattended and it will still rotate allowing all plants to enjoy equal sunlight.
The invention will now be described by way of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Drawing No 1 shows the overall heptagonal shape of the greenhouse and the front byfolding doors allowing the user to stand or sit outside the greenhouse while still having access to all the contents inside. It also shows a standard thermostatic automatic vent opener.
Drawing No 2 shows a side view and in particular the caster roller system that supports the rotating platform. It also shows the gutter drainage system which can be used to fill the water butt. This can used either for water storage or as part of the electric or solar powered water pump to automatically rotate the turntable.
Drawing No 3 shows the view from above, the byfolding access doors open, the rotating platform, the position of the water butt and the interface between the water butt, the motor and the greenhouse.
L
Drawing No 4 shows the base leveller for the greenhouse to guarantee the smooth rotation of the platform, the twin castor roller unit and positions.
Drawing No S shows the cycle chain drive mechanism for the underside of the turntable and the dowel handles for the manual pulling of the rotating turntable.
Drawing No 6 shows the centre base pin around which the bottom turntable is fixed and rotates.
Drawing No 7 shows the rotating central post for hanging baskets and extra shelving.
Drawing No 8 is detail of the byfolding doors Drawing No 9 shows how the five side panels are fixed and details of the one back panel which can take the electric or solar water pump drive system.
Drawing No 10 show s the details of the guttering, capping, glazing and ciii sections Drawing No 11 shows detail of the water pump in cross section Drawing No 13 shows the system for driving the turntable using either and electric or solar pump.
Claims (5)
- Revolution Greenhouse Claims 1. A greenhouse containing a central rotating platform which allows for all of the internal greenhouse to be used for plant cultivation.
- 2. External folding doors which according to claim 1 allows the user to stand or sit outside the greenhouse while rotating the platform allows access to all the plants within.
- 3. Allowing the user to be outside the greenhouse according to claim 1 means the greenhouse is safe for use by disabled persons or persons with mobility problems.
- 4. A dowel handle system and twin castor roller arrangement which according to claim 1 allows the simple rotation of the turntable platform by hand.
- 5. An automatic drive system either by electric or solar powered water pump which will rotate the turntable while unattended giving regular share of light conditions to all the plants inside.
