Abstract

An internally rotating greenhouse comprises a circular or polygon pyramidal structure with an internal circular rotating tub 3 within its base 2 to enable all the plants to be tended through an access door 4 in the transparent top section. An arresting device holds the tub in position once rotated into position to allow tending. A central projection 6 from the centre of the tub allows shelves and pots to be hung. This rotates independently of the tub so the hanging plants do not interfere with the lower tub plants. Vents are situated in the base of the greenhouse.

Description

INTERNALLY ROTATING GREY This invention relates to a internally rotating Ereeldhouse Greenhouses are generally stnicttires that people can walk into to tend plants around them.
Smaller colciframes have a hinged door which gives access to the plants from the outside but the size is limited to what can be reached directly from the door.
According to the present invention there is a domical or polygon pyramidal top section which is transparent to sunlight. This structure has a hinged or sliding door to allow access inside. The top is fixed to a vented base which rests on the floor or a stand. Within the base is a low sided circular tub which rotates around a central axle. A central protection rises from the centre of the tub into the top section.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which: Figure 1 shows in perspective the internally rotating greenhouse with the door closed.
Figure 2 shows the plan view of the greenhouse.
Referring to the drawings the greenhouse comprises a transparent top section (1) with glazing bars (10) and a door (4) to allow access inside. In this case hinges (8) are shown but the door could slide open on winners. A latch (7) keeps the door closed when not in use.
The top is fixed to the vented base (2). Inside the vented base is a marginally smaller rotating tub (3) in which plants are situated. The tub rotates around a central axle (5) which is fixed to the centre of the tub. The tub is turned manually (as shown) or electrically by means of a small motor.
Manual tuning lugs (9) are fixed to the rotating tub. Once the required section is in front of the door the rotating tub is held in place by an arresting device (11).
A central rotating projection (6) rises from the centre of the rotating tub but rotates independently ofthe tub by means of a simple rotating device (12) such as a 'male and female' loose socket

Claims (8)

  1. CLAIMS 1. An internally rotating greenhouse comprising a light transparent top section fixed to a bottom section with an inner rotating low sided tub, the tub rotating on a central axle.
  2. 2. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in claim 1 wherein a door is provided within the body of the transparent top section.
  3. 3. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in claim 1 wherein vents are situated in the bottom section.
  4. 4. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in claim 1 wherein manual turning lugs are fitted to the rotating tub.
  5. 5. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in claim 1 or claim 3 wherein an arresting device is fitted to the lower section to hold the rotating tub in place in the required position.
  6. 6. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in any preceding claim wherein a central projection rises into the transparent top section from the central axle.
  7. 7. An internally rotating greenhouse as claimed in claim 5 wherein the central projection rotates independently of the rotating tub by means of a simple male and female socket.
  8. 8. An internally rotating greenhouse substantially as described herein with reference to figures 1 & 2 of the accompanying drawing.
