Abstract
A horizontal flue system is designed so as to comply with the requirements of local emissions regulations. Preferably, the horizontal flue system has an internal cooking canopy with rear mounted filter banks and rear mounted stainless steel baffle grease filters. A forward mounted condensing baffle may have flush fitted moisture resistant fluorescent lights units and preferably forms part of an air supply plenum with air diffuser grilles positioned on the front fascia of the canopy. Preferably, the horizontal flue system has extract ductwork with fans that are mounted on a roof. The extract ductwork may comprise a galvanised duct with an inline pleated pre-filter, a bag filter, and an activated carbon filter. The main system fan may be a three phase compact centrifugal fan with a speed controller. Preferably, an additional inlet to the fan housing provides air dilution for mixing with the filtered air from a kitchen area prior to discharge. In use, the system is designed to be compact and to eliminate the need for a conventional vertical flue.
Description
SPECIFICATION
THE HORIZONTAL FLUE SYSTEM
This invention of a sample Horizontal Flue System that we have formed to our restaurant in Glasgow is a system that will revolutionise the restaurant I food industry.
Many restaraunteurs and café I bar entrepreneurs in certain areas of any city will have no doubt on more than one occasion, been familiar with the restrictions of planning departments in terms of extract flue specifications and requirements, in terms of logistics, listed buildings consent, height restrictions / conditions to name but a few.
This unique Horizontal Extract Flue system comes with the approval of the Environmental Services Departments of Glasgow City Council and has indeed been approved by the council as the first pilot project of its kind.
Each system will be carefully designed to the requirements of the building owner and will take cogniscence of any planning requirements which in some cases will only require the system to be painted with a colour in line with surrounding properties.
This system eliminates the need for cumbersome vertical flue systems, takes up less room and eliminates the need to fix a vertical flue system onto adjacent property's or gable watts.
This invention is described with the following drawings I details: Drawing No I -This sketch shows the make up of our sample / test extract system and is in full working order.
Drawing No 2 -This sketch is a plan view and denotes the sections that make up the system and their purpose.
Drawing No 3-This sketch is again a plan view but also shows the section through the unique Air Dilution System.
