Curtains, suspending; clip and ring brackets for supporting curtain rods comprise a fixture plate a attached to a wall and having an open-ended slot a<1> and a thimble b accommodating the end of the curtain rod c and carrying a headed screw b<1> operating in a tapped aperture therein and cooperating with the slotted part a<1> to clinch it between the screw head and the thimble. The slot is formed with shoulders a' intermediate the screw head and thimble, and the metal may be undercut between the slots so that on rotation of the thimble the screw head presses against the shoulders or is drawn into the cavity beneath them. The fixture plate may be of angle formation or comprise a plate on which two slotted members are swivelled.
