Seats and seat backs, arrangement and disposition of.-In motor-vehicle seats of the kind adapted to fold down and form a bed or couch, a frame C carrying the seat F is pivoted at E to a similar frame A mounted on slides B. The seat-back frame I is pivoted to L-shaped pieces G on the frame C so that it can be folded back and the seats adjusted in position to form a bed. A rug, rail M rests upon the floor of the car and supports the back frame I of the front seat and that of the rear seat rests upon supports Q. In the upright position, the back frame of the front seat is supported by straps L, or by bolts engaging the body, and the back frame of the rear seat rests against the body of the vehicle. The front of the seat F is adapted to be supported in an inclined position by a strut H, which may also act as a bolt to prevent the frame A from sliding. Modified forms are described in which the frame C is pivoted at the front end to the frame A and is provided with pivoted struts at the rear end to enable it to assume an inclined or level position.
