Abstract

244,624. Welton, P. E. March 26, 1925. Composition fuel.-In the manufacture of tubular briquettes coal culm is mixed with a temporary binder of fine coal dust and water and a binder to take effect after the briquettes are baked, comprising dry sulphite liquor bye-product and a petroleum product such as oil refining residue wax. The mixture is then moulded preferably by an extrusion press which forms a continuous tube from which short lengths are broken off. The briquettes are baked at e.g. 275‹ F. for about 15 minutes. In an example, 100 parts of crushed coal are mixed with two parts of sulphite liquor, 3 parts of oil refinexy residue wax, and 10 parts of water. Specification 244,623 is referred to.
