Abstract

244,447. Kulbeck, N. Dec. 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Scaffolding and staging.-A scaffold for use in operations upon ceilings carries a stand for the operator and means to enclose the portion of the ceiling being operated upon to prevent splashing. The scaffold consists of upright frames 1, 2 joined by cross-bars 30, 31, each upright comprising a ladder-like frame with cross-bars 3. A stand 4 is supplied stretching between the uprights on which the operator stands. The uprights are provided with openings 7 through which pass brackets 9 connected by cross-bars 12 and the ends of the brackets and the cross-rods support adjustable uprights 15 forming an enclosing frame. The upper bars 21 of the frame are notched so as to pass over projections from the wall and are adapted to support screens 23 against the walls. A cross-rod 25 may be supplied to support a curtain and the bottom of the frame may be filled in by means of trays.
