Abstract

244,304. Sch÷ttler, J. March 9, 1925. Knapsacks.-A knapsack capable of being converted into a camp stool comprises a crossed double carrying frame a a' to the seat stay c of one part of which one end of a strip of canvas is secured, the canvas being looped round the seat stay f of the other part of the frame, back over the stay c then down parallel to the first frame over the lower transverse bar e and then again upwardly spaced from the frame, side pieces b<1> being attached to the edges to form the bag portion of the knapsack. In use as a knapsack, with the frame closed, the upper ends of the shoulder straps m form carrying loops for rugs, &c., and the transverse bar h, which may be padded, serves as a back bar. The loop formed by the seat portion i serves as a closure for the knapsack, and is attached thereto by the straps p.
