Abstract
243,809. Casey, A. E. Sept. 5, 1924. Padded upholstery, securing in position.-Complete upholstery units are adapted for detachable engagement with the back and sides of the framework of a seat, and are constructed of a stout wire framework defining the shape of the unit and cross-braced by thinner wires carrying the upholstery springs. In the preferred construction the back frame overlaps the side or arm frames at the inner corners, and the parts are held in place by turn buttons or the like 26 which engage the wire frames and to which access is gained by means of detachable flaps on the upholstery. The arm or side units are secured by bolts k which pass through the front legs of the seat. The units are shaped with an overhanging roll edge 8, and fit tightly over the top rails d, c of the back and sides. According to the Provisional Specinoation the unholstery units may have projecting tongues to engage sockets on the seat frame.
