Abstract
243,733. International General Electric Co., Inc., (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitilts-Ges.). Nov. 29, 1924, [Convention date]. Axial-flow type; regulating.-In a turbine a having .full admission, additional live steam or working-fluid is admitted through nozzles b to an intermediate stage directly in front of a normal set of rotor blades c. The nozzles b are arranged in a radial plane outside the main flow in the turbine and are inclined in the direction of rotation of the rotor. Normal clearance between fixed and moving blades may be maintained at the point of admission of the additional steam. The nozzles b may discharge into the space between the portions of a ring of rotor blades which have been subdivided in width, Fig. 4. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a construction wherein the rotor diameter increases abruptly, Fig. 3 (Canclled), the nozzles b discharging into the transition passage between two sets of rotor blades. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
