Abstract

243,388. Schomburg, A. von. Nov. 21, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Channels in pumps. -A rotary pump has a rotor 17 eccentrically placed in a cylindrical casing 11 with an inlet 13 and an outlet 14. As the shaft rotates the rollers 20 are thrown out by centrifugal force and trapped liquid is taken from the inlet 13 to the outlet 14. Lubricating grooves 23, 24 are provided in the shaft through the bearings and similar grooves 25, 26 are provided in the rotor ends and the casing. Passages 27 through the rotor equalize the pressure of the lubricating fluid at the two ends. Lubrication may be effected by the fluid pumped, or by another lubricant.
