Abstract
243,320. Soc. Anon. Etablissements Gaiffe-Gallot et Pilon. Nov. 18, 1924, [Convention date]. R÷ntgen-ray apparatus. - The electric supply system of a R÷ntgen-ray tube includes a switching system which cuts out the supply when a predetermined quantity of energy has been supplied to the tube, in order that the radiographic exposure may be rendered independent of variations in the supply current and voltage. An electromagnet 8 in series with the secondary 6 and an electromagnet 9 in shunt with the primary 5 of the supply transformer, produce a torque .proportional to the energy supplied upon a rotary metal disc 10 braked by an adjustable magnet 11, and carrying a contact member 12 which may be adjusted to any predetermined point of a scale on the periphery of the disc. The supply is cut in by manually closing a switch 2. thereby completing the circuit of an electromagnet 3 which closes the circuit of the transformer primary. When the predetermined quantity of energy has been supplied, the contact 12 short circuits contacts 14, and completes the circuit of an electromagnet 15 which opens the circuit of the transformer primary.
