Abstract

An electronic device which includes a bendable arm 1 which is both attached to the device 3 and a fixing bracket 2. The device is attached to shelving/displays within the store and is used to identify specific locations of products and items within large department stores, DIY stores, supermarkets by both members of the general public and staff members. The device may also have information about related products, recipes, and add on sales.

Description

TiTLE: - LOCATION CHECKER 2427042 BAKGROUND: - This invention relates to

an Electronic device for use within supermarkets, large department stores, DIY stores/superstores, and electrical stores.

Which will solve the problem of members of the general public or staff members being unable to find specific items within large department stores, supermarkets and DIY stores! superstores. Often when people are shopping they become frustrated at their inability to find one or more specific items within large retail premises and may often leave without purchasing or go to an alternative retail outlet. These shoppers also become frustrated when members of staff are also unable to locate specific items.

Figure 1 shows the unit and fixing bracket, which would be used to attach the Location Checker to shelving/displays within store.

STATEMENT OF INVENTION -

To overcome this the present invention proposes an electronic device with a numeric and alphabet keyboard with liquid crystal display or other similar display. Stock items would be loaded into the inventions database via the stores own Electronic Point Of Sale (EPOS) or manually or other electronic interface between a stores electronic device and the" location checker" with their specific location within store. Members of the public or staff members would input into the device a specific item to locate within the store i.e. BAKED BEANS the invention would then display the location of the item within the store i.e. AISLE 1.

Claims

1. The Location Checker will enable members of the public or staff members to find specific items in specific locations within the store.

2. The Location Checker will consist of a numeric/alphabet keyboard with Liquid Crystal Display or similar display. Members of the public would type in specific items via the Keyboard i.e. BAKED BEANS the location within store would then be displayed on the Location Checkers display.

3. The Location Checker is an Electronic Device with detachable bracket for fixture to shop fittings.

ADVANTAGES:- This will enable members of the public to find specific items within store without troubling staff members it would also enable new and old members of staff to find specific products within store to assist the general public.

Stores, which installed this device, would also be able to operate more efficiently, reduce number of lost sales due to the fact that no one should walk away from the store without finding the product they require, and look at cost savings due to staff reduction. Shoppers would also have a feel good factor having completed ALL of their shopping.
