Abstract
242,156. Breeden, F. V. April 1, 1925. Binding - posts and terminals.-A terminal for accommodating pin or spade terminations of electric leads comprises a core a secured to a base c by a screw d and nut e, and a slidable sleeve g forced outwardly by a spring i, but limited in its movement by the head a<3> of a shank a<2> screwed into the core a. Transverse holes f, g<3>, g<4> are formed in the core and sleeve. A spade termination be gripped between the underside of the head a<3> and the upper end of the sleeve g. The end of a wire or pin termination can be inserted through the holes f, g<3>, g<4> when the sleeve g is pressed down so as to align the holes, and is gripped when the sleeve is released. The sleeve and core may be of angular horizontal section so as to prevent relative rotation. The .underside of the head a<3> may be formed with grooves m, Fig. 7, so that pin terminations may be gripped between the head and the top of the sleeve. Alternatively or in addition the top of the sleeve may beformed with similar grooves.
