Ratchet and like step-by-step conveyers and elevators.-A conveyer for mud formed by washing dust from air by water sprays comprises a cylindrical tube 12 in which reciprocate scraper blades 21 hinged to an operating rod 17 so that they are held rigidly when moved in one direction but swing loosely when moved in the opposite direction.
