Abstract
241,449. Brecknell, W. H. July 10, 1924. Embossing.-In pressure-receiving platens for embossing-presses of the type comprising a platen 1 slidably arranged on inclined surfaces 2 on a support 3 and held in position by an adjusting- screw 4 mounted on the support, the platen is removably secured by a T-headed bolt adapted to pass through and be set across a slot in the fixed part of the press. As shown, the screw 4 is hollow and a bolt 7, having a T-head 8, is carried within it. The T-head 8 passes through a slot 9 in a plate 10 secured to or integral with the support 3, a shoulder 11 on the bolt engaging the outer face of the plate 10. The screw 4 engages a screw-threaded block 6 on the platen and is rotated by a hand wheel 5. A handle 12 is provided for turning the bolt 7.
