Footwear Toggle The invention relates to a footwear toggle. The toggle will be produced in a variety of novelty designs and colour.
Toggles are already in general use on a variety of clothing such as anoraks, trousers and sportswear. The present use for toggles on footwear is limited to athletic shoes for adults and is not yet manufactured in novelty shapes, specifically to be used on children's shoelaces.
The object of the toggle is to provide a quick, easy and safe method of securing shoelaces. Once the toggle has been put in place, the laces can be cut much shorter than if they are left to be tied in a "normal" fashion, thus making the footwear safer, since there are no long ends to trip over. The laces will also stay safely secured, which again will stop accidents caused by undone shoelaces. The footwear toggle will be useful for any kind of children's footwear with laces. With the novelty design, we have added a previously unused feature.
The toggle has a push in button mechanism to allow the toggle to freely move up and down the lace. Once the button is released the laces are tightly held in place. One toggle will be required for each shoe.
Figure 1 shows a football toggle with the button released Figure 2 shows a football toggle with the button pushed in Figure 3 shows a football toggle in place on a shoe Figure 4 illustrates another example of a novelty design, shown as a heart toggle As shown in figure 1, the footwear toggle has a push in button 1, which is pushed in to move the toggle up and down the shoelaces.
Once the button 1 is released the toggle holds in place. A spring 2 allows the button to be pushed in and released.
In figure 2 the push button 1 has been pushed in to allow the toggle to be moved up and down into the required position. The button will only stay pushed in with pressure applied.
Figure 3 shows the footwear toggle in place holding the shoelaces tight together on the shoe.
Figure 4 is a heart toggle with button labelled 1 and spring as 2
