Abstract

A pool/pond alarm system comprising a microwave motion sensor 1 which actuates a siren 8 to alert the owner should any unattended children venture too close to a swimming pool or garden pond 5. The microwave sensor is preferably mounted on an adjustable tripod 2 and may be positioned either in the middle of the pool or at the poolside. Several such motion sensors may be used depending on the size and shape of the pool or pond to be protected. When actuated by the motion sensor, the device sounds a siren for a period of three seconds. If the child moves away from the pool then the siren will not sound again. The device is also effective at scaring off cats or birds. The device preferably uses a low voltage power pack 9 and may include a further siren 11 located inside the owners house.

Description
Designed to help prevent children drowning, and to deter herons and cats. This device uses a microwave motion sensor and a incorporated 3 second timer. The microwave sensor will sit either in the middle of the pond or on the outside by being fixed to a adjustable tripod stand when any movement accours the microwave sensor will set off a siren for three secounds only, and if the offending object moves away from the pond within the three secounds the siren will not sound again. All the other items of this unit such as the on/off key switch battery pack and siren are housed in a discreet water proof box either next to the pond or out of sight. By using one or more of these any size pond or pool can be protected.

  1. Claims
    Claim I This device uses safe low voltage power packs essential for use by water.
    Claim 2 By using microwave sensor or two or more it can protect any shape or size pond/pool.
    Claim 3 These sensors are fully adjustable for precise coverage of the pond.
    Claim 4 The power pack will be rechargable which will require charging every six months.
    Claim 5 The unit is turned on using a key switch for security and will activate a flashing light to confirm unit is in operation.
