Abstract
238,255. Greene, E. Aug. 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Bottles and like vessels, non-refillable.-Articles comprising a. number of parts requiring a fixed order of assembly, e.g. a non-refillable stopper comprising a metal ferrule 9, porcelain sleeve 10, guard 11, weight 12, valve 13, and seat and washer 14, shown inverted in Fig. 11, are assembled by advancing intermittently along a runway 17 or like a series of holders 2 adapted to receive a number of articles and successively inserting in the same sequence in each of the holders the various parts of the complete article. In the stoppers described an inwardly projecting shoulder 9<b> is formed in the ferrule 9 for retaining in position the valve seat 14, a special tool W being employed for snapping the seat past the shoulder 9<b>.
