Reinforced concrete. - Concrete are reinforced by an L-shapcd strip a of sheet-metal adapted to form the outer surface of the kerb edge, and each edge of the strip is provided with half meshes b, c, or more than half meshes, of expanded metal projecting at right-angles to the arms of the strip. The angles of the half-mesh projecting from one. arm of the strip a may be opposite the angles of the half-mesh on the other arm, or they may be in staggered relation. One arm of the strip may be provided with a plurality of meshes c, Fig. 9, which extend downwardly through the concrete of the kerb d and are then bent at an angle, so as to project into the concrete of the roads.
