Abstract

234,849. Conte, M. Nov. 22, 1923, [Convention date]. Liquid - level pressure gauges.-Comprises a safety device for float and bell gauges consisting of a differential manometer with concentric tubes 23, 25 characterized in that the high pressure tube 25 is connected through a threeway cock 20 and a tube with the space beneath the bell while the low pressure tube 23 is connected through a three-way cock 21 with the bell casing, the two cocks being preferably operated conjointly from a handle 22. The manometer is so designed that the high and low pressure tubes communicate at a difference of pressure slightly lower than the maximum difference of pressure that the bell gauge is capable of supporting thus short-circuiting the latter when exposed to sudden high pressure differences. When the cocks are closed against the pressures they place the bell gauge and manometer in communication with the atmosphere allowing zeroizing of the gauge.
