300,545. King-Seeley Corporation, (Assignees of Bandemer, W. E.). Nov. 14, 1927, [Convention date]. Indicators actuated by pressure of head of liquid.-A liquid-level indicator of the air-pressure type for use with tanks under a pressure other than atmospheric, is provided with means for preventing access of the liquid to the tube which transmits pressure from the upper part of the tank to the gauge. A pump 13 forces air through a pipe 14 and T-piece 7 to tube 4 terminating in a bell 3 dipping into the liquid. The tube 8 transmits the pressure to one leg 9 of a U-tube gauge, the other leg 11 of which is connected by tube 15 to the upper part of the tank. The leg 11 may be of smaller diameter than the leg 9 and is adjacent to a graduated scale. The tank is filled through the pipe 2, and when full, air is trapped in the recess 16 formed in the plug 6, so that no liquid reaches the tube 15.
